Some customers who are just starting to use UV LED curing equipment may encounter some problems during installation, and there are also some points to consider when installing and using curing equipment.
The installation of UV LED system is similar to that of traditional mercury lamp systems, but it is more convenient. Unlike mercury lamps, UV LED lamps do not produce ozone, do not emit short-wave ultraviolet rays that affect materials, and do not require the installation of filters. When using liquid cooling, it consumes less electricity. The air pollution generated during curing is minimal, so there is no need to deal with the air pollution issues associated with traditional mercury lamps. The installation of UV LED curing equipment typically includes the irradiation lamp, cooling system, drive power supply, connecting cables, and communication control interface.
The farther the distance between the light outlet and the chip, the lower the ultraviolet output. Therefore, the light outlet of the lamp should be placed as close as possible to the object being cured or the carrier, typically at a distance of 5-15mm. The irradiation head (excluding handheld ones) is equipped with mounting holes for fixing with brackets. UV lamps with PWM control can adjust the duty cycle and line speed to achieve the required energy density while maintaining constant irradiance. In special cases, multiple lamps may be used to achieve the desired energy density.
The wavelength emitted by the diodes used in UV LED syste is generally between 350-430nm, which falls within the UVA and visible light bandwidths and does not extend into the harmful UVB and UVC ranges. Therefore, shading is only required to reduce visual discomfort caused by brightness and can be achieved with materials such as metal plates or plastic. Longer wavelengths also do not produce ozone, as only wavelengths below than 250nm interact with oxygen to produce ozone, eliminating the need for additional ventilation or exhaust to remove ozone. When using UV LED, consideration should be given to dissipating the heat generated by the chips.
